Vanuatu Casino and Card Room Gaming

Casino gaming in Vanuatu became legal with the passage of the Casino Control Act of 1993. It is regulated by the Vanuatu Department of Customs and Inland Revenue (DCIR). In lieu of a dedicated regulatory body, the Minister of the DCIR has the authority to review and grant casino licenses.

In an effort to encourage casino development, Vanuatu amended the Casino Control Act in 2005 and gave the DCIR minister the authority to grants tax exemptions to license applicants under certain under certain conditions. Qualifying conditions include new property development and a minimum VT 1 billion capital investment into the casino property within a specified time period.
